4 and 5 Tower Green

Working closely with the conservation architects, building curator and chief Yeoman Warder, Polly set out the preliminary narrative for the site, identified target audiences and described the vision for how the Tower Community story might be delivered, as an exclusive guided tour.

Situated at the heart of the Tower of London, 4 and 5 Tower Green was built as a large house in the mid 1600’s and later subdivided into two dwellings for Yeoman Warders and their families who lived here up until 1994. Polly was engaged to set out the Interpretive Vision and Visitor Experience for Historic Royal Palaces. Working closely with the conservation architects, building curator and chief Yeoman Warder, Polly set out the preliminary narrative for the site, identified target audiences and described the vision for how the Tower Community story might be delivered, as an exclusive guided tour. The challenge here was delivering a number of diverse stories that span the four phases of the Yeoman Warder’s history and finding ways to tell the story of the Tower Community in an evocative way finding ways to enable visitors to sense history and make visceral connections with the building and the past.
